"The paintings by my brother Stephan Eleutheriades were created during a certain epoch, out of a love and passion for painting, to immotalise the picturesque landscape of his native town: Mangalia of yore. " - Elisabeta Moraitakis

"Thousands of kilometres from the shores of the Black Sea, a sensitive and cultivated artist dedicates his painting to a town which, to him, still retains the charm of the streets of yesteryear and gentle houses set against the horizon. His painting is a poetry of finely-honed nostalgia. A poetry which, both in its subject matter and its lyrical intensity , belongs entirely to the Romanian tradition. " - Dan Grigorescu

Stephan Eleutheriades
(born 1922, Mangalia), Brazilian architect and painter, originally from Romania. Graduate of the School of Architecture in Bucharest (1948). Ever since his student years, he has been recognized for his gift for colour: his participation in the Artistic Youth Exhibition in 1947 was noticed by critics, who admired his ability to create a synthesis between the rationalism of compositional structure and the lyrical vibration of colour. Since he settled in Brazil, he has not stopped painting. His works are part of private collections in Romania, Brazil, France, Greece, Germany, Canada and the US.
