The 18th edition of the Tel Aviv International Student Film Festival will take place between 09 - 16.06.2016, at the Tel Aviv Cinematheque and will celebrate 30 years since the first edition of the festival in 1986.
The Romanian short film Black Friday (21', Romania, 2015), directed by Roxana Stroe, will be screened as part of the international competition on Sunday, 12.06.2016, at 11:30, at the Tel Aviv Cinematheque. The screening will be followed by a Q&A session with the film director Roxana Stroe, present at the festival with the support of the Romanian Cultural Institute in Tel Aviv.

Synopsis: In the Communist era, queueing for food is something normal. After a long wait on an empty stomach, Mihail doesn't receive his food ration. The next day he tries to be the first in line.

Established in 1986 and part of CILECT, the Tel Aviv International Student Film Festival soon became a household name among the similar festivals in the world. The festival is organized and managed by the students of the Tel Aviv University's Department of Film and Television.
Today, the festival is considered the greatest of its kind and it is one of the top three in its field. The festival is a non-profit organization and is produced and managed by volunteer students filled with passion for the art of film. The festival is characterized by young, fresh energy that distinguishes it from all other cultural events that take place here and around the world.
