Winner of the 2007 BBC Music Magazine Award for the best solo CD recording of the year, and of more than 25 top prizes and distinctions, pianist Luiza Borac has gained international recognition through her dazzling stage presence, her passionate interpretations and her sovereign technique.
Her recordings for Avie Records of George Enescu's Piano Works were highly acclaimed throughout the world not only for her wonderfully idiomatic performances ("excellent playing" - Gramophone, "formidable interpreter" - San Francisco Chronicle, "best performance" - BBC Music Magazine), but also for the truthful quality of the recorded sound.
Luiza Borac makes regular concert appearances in Germany, Great Britain, Holland, Czech Republic, Italy, Romania, Austria, Norway, Switzerland, USA where her concerts were are broadcasted by major radio/TV stations around Europe and the USA.
She performed in festivals including Schleswig-Holstein Music Festival, Oslo Grieg Festival, Prokofiev Festival at the Barbican Centre London, Enescu International Festival, Braunschweiger Classix, in recitals at the Concertgebouw Amsterdam, Steinway Hall New York and London, Radio Hall Hamburg, Cologne Philharmonie, Puccini Hall Milano, Athenaeum Bucharest, and as a soloist with the Netherlands Philharmonic Orchestra, Philharmonic Orchestra of Nations, Bucharest and Cologne Radio Orchestras and Utah Symphony Orchestra among others.
In 2007 her Enescu Double CD Album won the coveted BBC Award for the best instrumental CD of the year and was chosen among 1500 CDs by the jury and more than 38 000 public votes.
She has taught piano classes at Hannover Academy of Music, chamber music classes at Mozarteum International Summer Academy Salzburg as well as piano masterclasses worldwide.
Luiza plays in charity concerts for the homeless and orphan children in Romania. The 1991 UK Tournee for the Romanian Relief featuring concerts in the Barbican Centre and Coventry Cathedral as well as the 2001 charity event of the German-Lutheran Church Melanchton Hannover enabled fund raising to be delivered directly in Romania.

After a November 2007 concert with Sherban Lupu at the Enescu Society in London, Luiza Borac is back on the stage of the Romanian Cultural Institute with a piano recital.

The Enescu Society Concert Season runs from October to June, on the first Thursday of each month. The concert stage of the Institute will host outstanding musicians performing George Enescu's music alongside an international repertoire.
The Enescu Society is a project of the Romanian Cultural Institute under the Royal Patronage of HRH Princess Margarita of Romania.
