The Ambassadors Musical Theatre is a public performance institution under the Ministry of Culture of Romania, with a clear mission to promote Romanian culture on international stages. The young lyrical soloists selected for this tour — all under the age of 30 — have already performed with great success in major European capitals such as Vienna, Paris, Brussels, and Bratislava, at prestigious diplomatic and cultural events.
Andreea Bucur, soprano, is a graduate of the National University of Music in Bucharest and the Vienna State Opera Academy. A frequent presence on Romanian and international opera stages, she has starred in roles such as Mimi (La Bohème), Saffi (The Gypsy Baron), and Silvia (The Csárdás Princess).
Mihaela Vîrban, soprano, is a laureate of numerous international competitions. Among her standout roles are Adina (L’elisir d’amore) and Zerlina (Don Giovanni).
Sergiu Neamțu, bass-baritone, trained in early music in Parma and made his stage debut at the age of 16. He performs roles from works by Pergolesi, Strauss, Porumbescu, and Puccini.
Silviu Mihăilă, baritone, is a graduate of the Royal Northern College of Music (UK), and winner of several major prizes, including the George Enescu Special Prize at the “Trophaeum Artis Cantorum” competition.
Andrei Racu, pianist, conductor, and composer, is professor and deputy director of the Dinu Lipatti National College of Music in Bucharest, with an extensive concert career across Romania’s most prestigious venues.
These recitals offer a vibrant and authentic representation of Romanian cultural values, paying tribute to a towering figure of Romanian music — George Enescu — and reaffirming Romania’s commitment to intercultural dialogue through musical art in the People’s Republic of China.
