When Romanians Fall in Love with Traditional Japanese Ways

On Saturday, July 11, 2026, starting at 4:30 p.m., at the Romanian Embassy in Japan, the third and final episode of the series “Japan through Romanian Eyes,” dedicated to traditional festivals (matsuri), calligraphy, the aesthetics of Japanese gardens, and the tea ceremony—defining elements of Japan’s cultural identity.

The project aims to explore how Japan’s cultural landmarks are embraced and experienced by Romanians living in the archipelago, as well as by Japanese specialists fascinated by Romania. The initiative brings together professionals who excel in fields that harmoniously blend elements specific to both cultures. Following the success of the events on April 3 and June 13, this new installment—scheduled during the height of the Japanese summer festival season—completes the cultural picture presented by the “Japan Through the Eyes of Romanians” series. The event will feature calligraphy demonstrations and a tea ceremony.
