Kutsot Hayotser Jerusalem International Arts and Crafts Fair. 6 - 18 August 2012

The Romanian Cultural Institute in Tel Aviv has the pleasure to invite you, between August 6th to 18th 2011, to the 37th edition of the international Jerusalem Arts and Crafts Festival.
For the 2012 edition of the fair, Romania has prepaired for the visitors a stand with handmade objects from the Bucovina county and a folkloric performance from the “Dorna Dorului” group of young dancers, that has participated at the Shanghai International Exhibition in China in 2010, with great success.
The Romanian craftspeople present at the stand will offer ad-hoc workshops and detailed explanations about their crafts: Raluca-Ionela Vasiluț (pan-pipe performer), Elena Todașcă (techniques of traditional egg painting), Mihaela Valentina Buculei (traditional shirts „ii” woving), Niculina Vasiluț (will present the rural, ecologic and cultural tourism of the Suceava county). Visitors will have the opportunity to admire and buy handmade products such as traditional shirts „ii”, hand woven table maths and towels, small ceramic or wooden objects as well as leaflets and CDs about the Bucovina county traditions.

The International Jerusalem Arts and Crafts Festival is the largest and most important event of this kind organized in Israel, each edition bringing together more than 150 Israeli artists and 30-40 international stalls, that display handicraft objects made by using the most diverse techniques, from the traditional ones up to the modern manufacturing technologies, limited series or one-of-a-kind products. Also, during the fair there are organized workshops, live demonstrations as well as music, dance and unconventional theatre performances, together with an international culinary festival. The event is very appreciated by the Israeli public, the approximate number of visitors for each edition being 100.000.

Location: Jerusalem, a 5000 m2 area near the Old City, in the touristic zone: the „Khutsot Hayotser” Arts and Crafts Center, Mitchell Gardens and the Merrill Hassenfeld Amphitheater in the Sultan’s Pool.

Visiting hours: Sunday-Thursday from 18:00 to 23:00 and Saturday from 20:00-24:00.
