Synopsis: Mariana, an idealistic theater director, is commissioned by the city council to stage a grand outdoor historical pageant. She is expected to celebrate the Romanian victory on the Eastern Front but Mariana has other plans - she bases the pageant on a notorious wartime massacre.

Winner of the Best Film Award at the Karlovy Vary Festival, Radu Jude’s follow-up to ’Aferim!’ is another powerful satirical critique.
