
The 2018 edition of the Tel Aviv International Student Film Festival will take place between 10 - 16.06.2018, at the Tel Aviv Cinematheque and will celebrate its 20th edition since the first edition of the Festival, held in 1986.
During
the festival, Dana Bunescu is invited to hold two masterclasses on sound and
cinema techniques in Romanian cinema, on June 14th for professionals, and on
June 15th for students, the latter, called ”Editing the new Romanian wave”, starting at 17.00 hours.
Entrance
to the master class for students is ticket-based, whereas the other one is
designed for the professional editors' guild only.

Furthermore, during the Festival, two well known and award-winning Romanian movies will be screened: 4 months, 3 weeks and 2 days (2007, directed by Cristian Mungiu) on June 11th, starting with 21.15 hours and Ana, mon amour (2017, directed by Călin Peter Netzer) on June 16th, at 15.00 hours.
Born in Romania, Dana Bunescu graduated from the Academy of Theater and Film in Bucharest (department of editing, sound and computer graphics) and over the course of her long career, she sound edited and edited countless movies such as: Everybody in our family (2012, directed by Radu Jude), Child’s Pose (2013, directed by Călin Peter Netzer), Aferim (2015, directed by Radu Jude) and many more. She is also known for editing 4 Months, 3 Weeks and 2 Days (2007, directed by Cristian Mungiu), which won the Palme d'Or Prize at the Cannes Film Festival. For Ana, mon amour (2017, Călin Peter Netzer) Bunescu received the Silver Bear for Outstanding Artistic Contribution at the 2017 Berlin International Film Festival.
Established in 1986 and part of CILECT, the Tel Aviv International Student Film Festival soon became a household name among the similar festivals in the world. The festival is organized and managed by the students of the Tel Aviv University's Department of Film and Television. Today, the festival is considered the greatest of its kind and it is one of the top three in its field. The festival is a non-profit organization and is produced and managed by volunteer students filled with passion for the art of film. The festival is characterized by young, fresh energy that distinguishes it from all other cultural events that take place here and around the world.
