“The Fibers of Life” – Art exhibition by Erica Weisz Schweiger. Romanian Cultural Institute in Tel Aviv, 10 March – 26 June 2015. Finissage - Thursday, the 11th of June, 16:00-19:00

The Romanian Cultural Institute in Tel Aviv has the pleasure to invite you on the 11th of June 2015, between 16:00 and 19:00 hrs for the finssage of the exhibition “The Fibers of Life” presenting tapestries by Romanian born Israeli artist Erica Weisz Schweiger.On show there is a selection of drawings and haute lisse tapestries made by Erica Weisz Schweiger in her career spanning for more than 40 years. The exhibition takes place at the Romanian Cultural Institute in Tel Aviv, 8 Shaul HaMelech Blvd., 6th floor and remain open to the public until June 26th, 2015, Monday to Thursday, from 10:00 to 16:00.
Erica Weisz Schweiger was born in Dej (Romania) in 1947. She has an M.A. from the Fine Arts Institute “Ion Andreescu” in Cluj, Textile Art and Design. In 1975 she emigrated to Beer Sheva – Israel. Until 2001 she worked as an art teacher. In her career as an artist, she presented her creations in many personal exhibitions, as well as group and collective shows. Among these, we mention the Israeli decorative art exhibition organized in 1994 at the Art Museum in Tokyo, the collective exhibition of textile art organized by Musee Royal D’Art et D’Histoire Bruxelles in 1991 and the group exhibition dedicated to Israeli textile arts by La Maison des Artistes de Marseille in 1990. Erica Weisz Schweiger is known to the Romanian public from the exhibitions at the municipal art galleries in Cluj Napoca and Sibiu, as well as from her retrospective exhibition organized in 2003 by the Art Museum in Cluj. In 2011, she participated in the project ”I Am Romanian: the Bucharest – Tel Aviv Route” organized by the Ben Gurion University of the Negev in collaboration with the Romanian Cultural Institute in Tel Aviv.
