Romanian conductor Tiberiu Soare at the Jerusalem International Opera Festival and Master Class, July 10 – August 5, 2018

The Jerusalem International Opera Festival and Master Class, organized by the Jerusalem Municipality, will take place between July 10th – August 5th, 2018 at the YMCA, Jerusalem Academy of Music and Dance in Jerusalem, Elma Performing Arts Center in Zichron Yaakov and the Israeli Conservatory in Tel Aviv.

With the support of the Romanian Cultural Institute in Tel Aviv, conductor Tiberiu Soare will be present at the event as a coach and will work with the students attending the program, while Romanian tenor Andrei Daranyi will participate at the concert program of the Master Class and at the Jerusalem International Opera Master Class Competition.

Also, as part of the event program, Romanian conductor Tiberiu Soare will deliver a master class open to the public on July 23, 2018 at 20:00, at YMCA Jerusalem and will conduct the gala concert taking place on July 27, 2018 at 13:00 at Elma Performing Arts Center in Zichron Yaakov.

Born in Bucharest, Tiberiu Soare is currently one of the most talented and appreciated conductors in Romania today. He graduated from the musical performance section of the Bucharest National University of Music in 2000, specializing in the tuba, and from the conducting section of the same university in 2001. Between 2001 and 2002 he took courses of higher education in conducting. In 1993, 1994, and 1995, he won prizes at the National Musical Performance Competition and in 2003 the Music Criticism Prize of the Mihail Jora Union of Romanian Music Critics, Editors and Creators. In 2006 and 2010 he was nominated as a finalist in the Prometheus Awards for young musicians.

Between 2002 and 2004, he conducted the Giurgiu Philharmonic, and since 2003 he has conducted the Profil Contemporary Music Ensemble. Since 2005, he has also been a conductor at the Bucharest National Opera. Tiberiu Soare is often invited to conduct prestigious symphony orchestras and opera theatre ensembles in Romania, and has also toured in China, Switzerland, Germany, Israel, Poland and Hungary. Tiberiu Soare conducted the National Radio Orchestra in a concert given as part of the Shanghai World Exhibition, and he was invited to conduct the London Philharmonic Orchestra, the soloist being Angela Gheorghiu.

The Jerusalem International Opera Masterclass and Festival (http://www.jiom.org.il/index.html) aims to promote opera and classical music through the organization of advanced specialist training aimed at singers with top musical skills and a strong technical foundation. The international summer programs offer a wide range of intensive studies in vocal technique, style and interpretation, languages and diction, movement and stagecraft, role preparation and career development.
