
The Romanian Cultural Institute in Prague will add a Romanian programme of carols and traditional songs to the winter holidays atmosphere of the host country. Its performers will be the children from the folklore group "Mlădiţe ilfovene" in Clinceni, Romania. Their concert will take place on the open stage set in Staroměstské náměstí - Staré Město, 110 00 Praha 1, Czech Republic (the square situated in front of the Astronomical Clock, one of Prague's symbols), on December 15, 2015, starting from 3:30 p.m., as part of the most complex and large series of events dedicated to Christmas in the Czech Republic, that attracts an impressive number of tourists - the place becoming even more popular during this time of the year.
The young artists, aged between 6 and 15-16, will bring the sweet reverie of traditional folklore songs from different ethnographic areas, thus promoting with great sensitivity our authentic traditional values. Their coordinators are the folklore singers Grigore Gherman and Mărioara Man Gheorghe. The group has an intensive activity and is renowned, having collaborated with prestigious institutions of the Romanian State, such as: Ministry of Interior, Dimitrie Gusti National Village Museum or the Romanian Television.
The programme consists of the well known carols: Am plecat să colindăm, Pe podele de nuiele, Dechide uşa, creştine, Sus, la poarta raiului, Velerim şi veler Doamne, După dealul cel mai mare etc. and some artistic moments: traditional winter dances and rites, like Jocul caprei, Semănatul, Urătura.
By this concert, the Romanian Cultural Institute in Prague will gain big visibility, as the Czech cultural environment is very developed and welcomes this type of events coming from the ancestral traditions area.
