Cluj-Napoca - European Youth Capital in 2015

Cluj-Napoca is the European Youth Capital in 2015, a title won during a competition open to 49 countries in the European space. For 2015, cities from 12 countries entered the competition. The title was given by the European Youth Forum to the Municipality of Cluj-Napoca. SHARE Cluj-Napoca Federation received the responsibility to implement the project. This way, a public-private partnership was formed. 

The program's mission is to support youngsters and youth organizations in their active participation in changing the society through a sustainable, responsible and inclusive urban development process. Through sharing space, culture, power, work, joy, faith, vision and common European values, by approaching topics like youth responsibility and structured dialogue during one year program in Cluj-Napoca. European Youth Capital is the title awarded to a European city for one year, during which it will be granted the opportunity to present, through a multi-directional program, its life and development, from youth perspective point of view, on cultural, social, political and economic issues. The Youth Capital initiative encourages the implementation of innovative ideas, relative to the active participation of youth in society, aiming to present a model for the future development of youth policies across other European municipalities.

The title is awarded by the European Youth Forum, through a competition of programs opened for cities around 49 countries. EYF is the platforn for youth organizations in Europe. Representing 99 youth organizations, both national youth councils and NGOs.
