The Romanian Cultural Institute has the honor of inviting you to a very special event - "Olympic Grace : Ana-Maria Brânză", a photography exhibition by Theo Niculae, on Saturday, July 6, at 7:00 PM, at the ICR Beijing headquarters.
The exhibition features a selection of black-and-white photographs taken by Theo Niculae, a Romanian architect and artist currently based in Shanghai. These photographs not only possess exceptional artistic value but also highlight one of the most important female figures in world fencing.
The event will open with the documentary "Reţeaua de Idoli cu Ana-Maria Brânză" by Irina Păcurariu (TVR).
The exhibition will remain open to the public until September 23, 2024.
Theo Niculae is an artist based in Shanghai, specializing in experimental and eclectic photography. Born in Romania, Theo developed a passion for photography from a young age and has been living in Shanghai since 2015, influenced by the city's dynamic culture. With a background in architecture, Theo draws inspiration from urban diversity, exploring architecture, movement, and the human body in his works. He has curated and participated in exhibitions such as "Discovering the Huangpu River" (2019) and "Reconstruction" (2023). His distinctive style has led to collaborations with international brands and institutions such as UFC, ONE Championship, and the Romanian National Olympic Committee. His collaboration with Olympic champion Ana Maria Brânză has been recognized in "Psychologies" magazine and nominated for the HIPAAE international photography competition.
Ana-Maria Brânză is a world-renowned Romanian fencer specializing in épée. Born on November 26, 1984, in Bucharest, Ana-Maria has earned a prominent place in Romanian sports history through her numerous international successes. She has won five gold medals at the European Championships in both team and individual events and two gold medals at the World Championships in team events. She has participated in five editions of the Olympic Games, winning two individual silver medals and a team gold medal in 2016. In addition to her exceptional sporting achievements, Ana-Maria Brânză is recognized for her professionalism, dedication, and positive influence on young athletes. Her involvement in various cultural and sports initiatives underscores her significant contributions both nationally and internationally.
