The Romanian Cultural Institute supports the participation of director Paul Negoescu at The Times BFI 51st London Film Festival on the occasion of the screening of his film Home. The film tells the story of a Romanian migrant worker returning home from Spain on Christmas Eve. During the ride from the airport, the taxi driver reveals he wants to work abroad too. But after he sees the cold reunion of his client's family he has a second thought...

Home (14 min, 2007) will be screened within the Global Journeys in the 21st Century section of the Festival, which includes a selection of short films from all over the world.

The film has been shown at the Transylvania International Film Festival (Cluj, Romania), Anonimul International Independent Film Festival (Sfantu Gheorghe, Romania), Milano Film Festival and Montpellier Mediterranean Film Festival.

Paul Negoescu was born in 1984 in Romania and studied directing at the University of Drama and Film 'I.L. Caragiale' in Bucharest. He has directed such short films as Exam (2006), Home (2007), Late (2007) and Radu + Ana (2007). He was awarded the prize for the best short at the BucharEST International Film Festival 2007 and the prize for directing at the cineMAiubit Film Festival, Bucharest 2007.

The Times BFI 51st London Film Festival showcases the best new films from around the world. This year's edition presents a strong selection of Romanian award-winning films, including the winner of Cannes Palme d'Or "4 Months, 3 Weeks and 2 Days" by Cristian Mungiu.
