Romanian recitals at Concertino Prague

The Romanian Cultural Institute in Prague supports the participation of Cornelius Zirbo, a young Romanian violoncellist, within the "Concertino Prague" International Contest which takes place between 10-16 June, 2016. With a tradition which goes back 50 years, this is one of the most prestigious events of classical music for teenagers (less than 18 years old) and it takes place annually, both in the capital and in other cities of the Czech Republic.

Cornelius Zirbo will interpret the musical piece Hungarian Rhapsody op. 69 by David Popper, being accompanied by the Radio Symphonic Orchestra in Prague on June 10, 2016, at 7:00 p.m., in Dvorak Hall of the Czech Philharmonic - Rudolfinum. Also, between 13-17 June, 2016, he will have recitals within a series of five concerts organized within the Festival of South Bohemia, in several Southern Bohemia castles, as follows: Český Krumlov, Bechyně, Třeboň, ZUŠ Jindřichův Hradec, Jindřichův Hradec. 

Cornelius Zirbo, born on October 10, 1998, is the second place winner at the "Concertino Prague" International Contest and has an impressive record, having won a lot of prizes both nationwide (Bucharest, Cluj-Napoca, Deva, Bistrița, Zalău, Sighetu-Marmației, Tulcea) and abroad (Bulgaria, Croatia, Germany).
