În data de 30 și 31 octombrie 2019, Institutul Cultural Român prin Accademia di Romania in Roma susține ca partener Departamentul de Litere al Università di Perugia și Facultatea de Istorie a Universității din București în organizarea Conferinței internaționale The Art Of Power - The Power Of Art. Artists, Propaganda And Politics From Late Antiquity To The Contemporary Age.
Obiectivul analizei este acela de a identifica elementele recurente ale relației dintre artă și puterea politică, în cheie comparativă și interdisciplinară, concentrându-se asupra formelor de organizare prin care s-a articulat raportul dintre artiști, putere și ideologie. Plecând de la rolul decisiv asumat de propagandă, până la stabilizarea puterii și a răspândirii ideologiilor dominante, se va examina relația dintre tendința de a organiza activități de producție artistică, în scopul dominației și al controlului, și formele de exprimare ale artei propriu-zise. Cercetarea va fi articulată într-o serie de studii de caz care, deși acoperă o mare perioadă în timp, vor reda un profil unitar al acestui fenomen.
