2008 CEC Artslink fellows

 October 16- November 19 | apexart, NYC & Austin Film Society, TX RCINY continues its partnership with CEC Artslink in supporting the Romanian artists and curators that have been selected to participate in 2008 ArtsLink fellowships. Following a very competitive selection process, CEC Artslink will support the activities of 17 leading Central European, Russian and Eurasian artists and arts professionals in the field of visual and media arts at US cultural organizations, including Eugen Radescu and Sergiu Lupse. Eugen Radescu (b. 1978) is a Romanian curator and critic specialized in moral relativism and political ethics. He curated the first edition of the Bucharest Biennale with the theme "Identity Factories." He is co-editor of Pavilion contemporary arts magazine and co-director of the Bucharest Biennale. His fellowship will allow him to work with apexart in New York City for a one month period of intellectual exchange, which will include a series of public presentations , including How innocent is that? on November 13, 6:30 pm. Eugen Radescu will be joined by Bosko Blagojevic in conversation about the state of innocence in Eastern Europe. Bosko Blagojevic is an artist and writer based in Brooklyn. His writing on art and culture has appeared in a variety of media both online and off, including recently the journals Afterimage, USELESS and Art Asia Pacific, as well as several artist's publications. He, along with Xenia Pachikov, is co-founder and director of Platform for Pedagogy, a New York-based organization working to advance a culture of cross-disciplinary public lecture attendance and develop the lecture as form. Filmmaker and screenwriter Sergiu Lupşe (b. 1980) graduated in Film and Photography at the Art University in Cluj and has a Masters Degree in Experimental Film from the National University of Art in Bucharest. His portfolio includes advertising projects for print and television, 11 short films, some screened at festivals in Europe and the US. He owns an independent Visual FX studio and is currently producing his first feature film and working on the screenplay of a sci-fi pilot. He works and lives in Sibiu, Romania. His Artslink collaboration with the Austin Film Society in Texas will include the development and presentation of a selection of his short films.
