NEW YORK. History of Romania in One Object represented by Ovid

The fifth episode of the History of Romania in One Object series, created in partnership with Museum of National History and Archeology in Constanța / Muzeul de Istorie Națională și Arheologie Constanța brings forth one of the symbols of the ancient Tomis, the 1887 monumental statue of the great poet Ovid (Publius Ovidius Naso), one of Latin literature’s greatest names, exiled by Emperor Octavian Augustus by the shores of the Black Sea, far from Rome, at the restless and cold borders of the Empire.
