The Romanian Cultural Institute in Tel Aviv, in partnership with the Ben Gurion University in Beer Sheva, are inviting you to the conference & art exhibition "I Am a Romanian: the Bucharest – Tel Aviv Route", which propose a series of cultural analyses and interpretations of the Romanian identity.
The conference will present significant case studies in various cultural fields, such as: history, folklore, theology, literature, cinema and fine arts. The influences and the Romanian creative roots of some Israeli artists of Romanian origin, as well as important contributions of intellectual Jews to the Romanian cultural patrimony will also be taken into discussion. The participants are Romanian and Israeli specialists who are going to address relevant topics for both cultural milieus.

The art exhibition will focus on different point of views about Romanian identity, tradition & memory, as they are expressed in the works of 20 contemporary artists from Romania and 20 Israeli artists of Romanian descent. Their artistic productions are representative for the present Israeli and Romanian cultural spaces, for the modern and contemporary art, with an accent on the Romanian influences in the case of the Israeli creations.
