all over the Czech Republic (about 60 cities joined the event last year). The
general theme of this year´s edition is „Electric poetry”. The program will be
held in schools, libraries, universities, literary cafes, clubs, theaters and
museums. Besides the readings from well-known Czech authors, such as Zbyněk
Hejda Jiří Dědeček, Kateřina Rudčenková, Josef Hrubý and Petr Borkovec, thanks to the
support of several cultural institutes operating in the Czech Republic, the
audience will be able to enjoy the presence of numerous writers from Slovakia,
Romania, Poland, Slovenia, Hungary, Russia, France, Spain, Ireland, UK etc.
Ciprian Măceşaru will join the events on November 17, at 7 p.m. in Prague ((A)void Floating Gallery, Výtoň Náplavka, Praha 2) and November 18, at 6 p.m. in Plzeň (Municipal library, Polanova, Síň B. Smetany 13), with excerpts from collection My name is Bryan Ruiz (Next Page Publishing house, Bucharest, 2015), which will be presented as part of the public reading sessions. He also represented Romania successfully at the Prague Book Fair / Svět Knihy. His literary debut took place in 2007 with the volumes Crickets beneath railways (poems) and Dialogues in the mirror (interviews), published by Curtea Veche Publishing house. The literary work Trunk (Three Publishing house, 2014) was awarded by the Bucharest Prose branch of the Romanian Writers' Union with the „Young Writer of 2013” prize for the novel in manuscript.
ICR Prague has been a partner of the festival since 2006 and the Romanian participation in the previous editions has always been very well received by the Czech public, both specialized and general.
