The tenor Daniel Magdal studied voice at the George Enescu Academy of Arts in his native city of Iași, Romania. In 1991 he started working at the Romanian National Opera in Iași, where he performed Don José (Carmen), Riccardo (Un ballo en maschera) and other roles. In 1997 he became a soloist at the Magdeburg Theater and continued to appear on stages in Saarbrücken, Hanover, Lübeck, Braunschweig and The Hague (Cavaradossi in Tosca). In 2004 he appeared as a guest at the State Opera Prague, performing as Radames and Alfredo (La traviata). In the 2006/07 season he debuted at the Semperoper in Dresden as Rodolfo (La bohéme) and sang Manrico (Il trovatore) at the festival in Schwerin. In February 2013 he debuted in the role of Aeneas at the Deutsche Oper Berlin.
