The 5th International Symposium of Romanian Studies in the Czech Republic and Slovak Republic

The Romanian Studies Section of the Faculty of Arts at the Charles University in Prague, the Institute for World Literature of the Slovak Science Academy in Bratislava and the French Research and Social Sciences Centre in Prague (CEFRES), with the support of the Romanian Cultural Institute in Prague, organize the 5th International Symposium of Romanian Studies in the Czech Republic and Slovak Republic, on April 14-15, 2016, in the premises of the Charles University (Hybernská 3, Prague 1), at 6:00 p.m.. This year's edition will focus on the translations to and from Romanian, Czech and Slovak in the Central and South-Eastern Europe as a product of diverse contexts, not only cultural and literary, but also historical and social. It's theme is The translation between language, culture and history / "Traducere între limbă, cultură şi istorie".

The program of the symposium consists of methodology modules during which the participants will have an opportunity to develop different approaches and directions in traductology and translatology, with an emphasis on concrete aspects and issues from these fields.

Prof. Dr. Anca Irina Ionescu, from the Faculty of Foreign Languages and Literatures, University of Bucharest, Prof. Dr. Georgiana Lungu Badea, from the Faculty of Arts, History and Theology, West University in Timișoara, Prof. Rodica Dimitriu, Faculty of Arts, „Alexandru Ioan Cuza" University in Iași and Ms. Helliana Ianculescu, renowned Romanian-Czech-Slovak translator, were invited to the symposium.
