To mark the International Holocaust Remembrance Day, the Romanian Cultural Institute (RCI) in Tel Aviv organized a presentation event of the restoration project of the "Elie Wiesel" Memorial House in Sighetu Marmației, which also represents the Jewish Heritage Museum from Maramureș, part of the Maramureș Museum Complex.
The event took place at the headquarters of Romanian Cultural Institute in Tel Aviv (located on 8 Shaul Hamelech boulevard, Beit Amot Mishpat) on January 25th, in English and Hebrew. The guest speakers included the coordinator of the restoration project, museographer Alina Marincean, together with H.E. Radu Ioanid, Ambassador of Romania to the State of Israel, Raphael Vago, historian and professor at the Tel Aviv University and Joel Rappel, historian and professor at Bar Ilan University.
Alina Marincean gave the presentation called From history to story. The ”Elie Wiesel” Memorial House, which emphasized the Jewish heritage and human values represented by and in the Elie Wiesel Memorial House. On this occasion, the public could watch a short documentary film about the stages of the Museum's establishment.
