3rd Edition – Reading Europe: Books and Publications from the European Union

On the occasion of the European Day of Languages, the EUNIC China Cluster (European Union National Institutes for Culture) is pleased to present the third edition of Reading Europe: Books and Publications from the European Union. The event will take place on Saturday, 26 September 2026, at the Italian Cultural Institute in Beijing.

From 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. (last entry at 2:00 p.m.), visitors will be invited to explore a curated selection of books and publications from across Europe. The collection offers an opportunity to discover, read, purchase, or receive as gifts publications that reflect the rich linguistic and cultural diversity of Europe.

More than a celebration of European languages and literature, Reading Europe provides a welcoming platform for cultural exchange and dialogue. Through books, stories, and ideas, the initiative seeks to encourage mutual understanding and appreciation of our respective cultures, while contributing to meaningful and lasting people-to-people connections and ties of friendship.

The event brings together European Embassies, Cultural Institutes, and partners from the EUNIC China Cluster network, united by a shared commitment to fostering intercultural dialogue, cultural cooperation, and closer connections between people.

This year, Reading Europe will also feature a special section dedicated to our youngest readers, celebrating the richness and imagination of European children's literature. Through stories and illustrations from different parts of Europe, young visitors will have the opportunity to discover new cultures, languages, and perspectives in an engaging and enjoyable way.
