The final recital of the Enescu Concerts Series' 2010-2011 season features one of the best known chamber ensembles in Berlin, The "Dinu Lipatti" Trio. Cristian Niculescu (piano), Friedemann Amadeus Treiber (violin) and Helmut Menzler (cello) are set to play a rarely performed version of Enescu's Piano Trio in A Minor that was revised by the great Romanian musicologist and composer Pascal Bentoiu.

The "Dinu Lipatti" Trio was established in 2000 in Berlin by pianist Cristian Niculescu, violinist Florin Paul and cellist Radu Nagy to celebrate the memory of the greatest Romanian pianist. In 2010, the ensemble altered its original formula and Paul and Nagy were replaced by violinist Friedemann Amadeus Treiber and cellist Helmut Mezler.
Cristian Niculescu spent his formative years at the Bucharest Music Academy and after graduation continued his studies at Hochschule der Kunste Berlin. Winner of numerous national and international competitions, Cristian began his career in Romania with "G. Enescu" Philharmonic Orchestra and the National Radio Orchestra in Bucharest. He has been involved in various projects both as a soloist and a chamber musician and has performed at the Danish Radio in Copenhagen or Norddeustchenrundfunk in Hamburg. Friedeman Amadeus Treiber studied violin at Hochschule fur Musik in Freiburg and at Hochschule fur Musilk in Basel. Winner of many national and international competitions, his career took him all over Germany and Europe to perform with renowned orchestras. Besides his activity in the "Dinu Lipatti" Trio, he is the first violinist of Adventure Ensemble in Freiburg, a member of the Phoenix Ensemble in Basel and the founder of the Reanos Trio in Basel. Helmut Menzler studied cello at Hochschule fur Musik in Freiburg and at Musikhochschule Dusseldorf. He is a former member of the Deutsche Kammerphilharmonie and of the Bartholdy Quartet. Helmut has founded the Pellegrini String Quartet which has been active since 1989.
The Enescu Concerts Series, jointly organized by the Romanian Cultural Institute in London and the Enescu Society, was established in 2007 under the Royal Patronage of HRH Princess Margarita of Romania. The concerts take place in the Institute's chamber music hall every first Thursday of each month from February to June (July) and from October to December. The Series has attracted a wide array of outstanding musicians and ensembles who have managed to give some of the most memorable Enescu performances ever.
Since September 2009, the Romanian Cultural Institute awards every year the Enescu Society Scholarship to outstanding students at the Royal Academy of Music.
