Think About The Elephant

My dear child, when you're sickOr feel afraid or sad,Think about the elephant. One day, a baby elephant,In the jungle went astray,Where it's hot and humid –He was alone and lost his way. He was scared and thirstyAnd looking to cool down,To take a bath at leisure,To drink and not to drown When he returned cool and clean,The elephants were waiting,At the edge of the forest,Scolding him for getting lost,Chiding, then forgiving him. However sad you feel, my boy,Think how bad it isWhen we're thirsty in the jungleAnd far from our families. from The Rattlebike, Editura Fundaţiei Culturale Române, 1996
