Romanian students participate in the Kinneret Regional Project (KRP) - archaeological excavations in Tel Kinrot and Horvat Hur
The Romanian Cultural Institute in Tel Aviv supports the academic research in the field of biblical archeology in Israel. For the second consecutive year, a team of students, coordinated by dr. Madeea Axinciuc (University of Bucharest), participate in the archaeological fieldwork of the Kinneret Regional Project (KRP), including survey- and excavation-programs at Horvat Kur and study-programs at Tel Kinrot.
The Kinneret Regional Project is a Dutch-Finnish-German-Swiss expedition, which aims to explore Tel Kinrot and its environs throughout the times. This European project is directed by Stefan Münger, Dr. Juha Pakkala and Prof. Dr. Jürgen Zangenberg on behalf of the Universities of Bern, Helsinki, Leiden and Mainz and collaborates with various institutions from Europe and Israel.
The Romanian students selected in the project are: Abel Cosmin Dragomir (MA - Religious Studies, Texts and Traditions); Cătălin Dan Necşa (MA - Religious Studies, Texts and Traditions); Eugenia Mihalcea (BA - Jewish Studies). On July 11, the students will take part in a round table presenting the project.
