Enescu Society March Concert @ ICR London

The Enescu Society has invited the renowned Romanian Pro Arte Trio to give a concert at the Romanian Cultural Institute.

They will perfom The Piano Trio by Enescu, along with Trio in A major by Haydn and Trio op 97 'Archduke' in B major by Beethoven.

Founded in 1978 by members of the George Enescu Philharmonic, the trio brings together Nicolae Licaret, Anda Petrovici and Marin Cazacu. Together they perform some of the best works of pre-classical, classical, romantic and contemporary music, blending outstanding sound quality, ensemble virtuosity and musical expressiveness.

Born in Bucharest, pianist Nicolae Licaret has collaborated with world-renowned choirmasters such as Carlo Zecchi, Witold Lutoslawski and Jean Martinon. In addition to being a brilliant pianist, Nicolae Licaret is also an excellent organist and harpsichordist, his repertoire including a wide variety of musical works, ranging from Renaissance and Baroque music to universal contemporary music. He has performed concerts on some of the most prestigious stages in Europe, Australia and America and participated in numerous international festivales.

Violinist Anda Petrovici is member of the George Enescu Philarmonic and one of the founders of the Pro Arte Trio. She has enjoyed a highly successful career both as a concert soloist and a chamber music soloist and has participated in many international festivals. Since 1989 she has been the concertmaster of the George Enescu Philharmonic orchestra.

Born in 1956, Marin Cazacu has been since 1983 the cello of the George Enescu Philharmonic, working together with some of the greatest choirmasters such as Ghennadi Rojdestvenski, Sergiu Comissiona, Lu Jin, Nanse Gum and Cristian Mandeal. He has performed at the most famous European festivals - Munich, Berlin, Milan, and Venice; in 1990 he gave a concert together with the Berlin Radio Symphony Orchestra and in 1994 he performed in Munich as the soloist of the Romanian Radio Symphony Orchestra conducted by Horia Andreescu. Marin Cazacu, referred to by Ghennadi Rojdestvenski as an 'excellent musician', has gained a remarkable success among the public and critics alike.
