The Romanian Cultural Institute in Tel Aviv invites you to the Theatre.
On October 17 and October 27, at 9 pm, representations of a newly translated Romanian contemporary play will take place at Karov Theatre in Tel Aviv. On October 22, at 9 pm, the play is performed at Jerusalem Theatre in Jerusalem.
Hotel Europa, adaptation of a play titled "The Word Progress on My Mother's Lips Doesn't Ring True" by Matei Vişniec, talks about reconstructing memory, about a Europe that needs to be built on bones left from older or extremely recent wars, about refugees returning home, nationalist delirium and traumas that would be most difficult to overcome.
Hebrew translation and directing are by Nicu Nitai, who also translated and adapted, în 2007, another successful play by Matei Vişniec, "How to Explain the History of Communism to Mental Patients".
The project is supported by the Romanian Cultural Institute in Tel Aviv.
The first representations of Hotel Europa took place at Karov Theatre in Tel Aviv on September 23 and on September 26, 2009.
