
With the support of the Romanian Cultural Institute in Tel Aviv, jazz pianist Florin Răducanu will participate in the musical program of the International Jaffa Jazz Festival, organized at the Mandel Cultural Center between September 14-16, 2017.
Together with Florin Răducanu, there will perform also Romanian pan flute artist Dalila Cernătescu, as well as over 40 Israeli and international artists, such as Billy Cobham – drums (Panama - Switzerland), Mike del Ferro – piano (Holland), Paulo Morello – guitar (Germany), Anders Bergcrantz – trumpet (Sweden), Marjorie Martinez – voice (France), Herwig Gradischnig – saxophone (Austria), Jean Loup Longnon – trumpet (France), Jari Perkiomaki – saxophone (Finland), Ruben De Maesschalk – bas (Belgium), Lennert Baerts – saxophone (Belgium), Toomas Keski-Säntti – piano (Finland) and Nikolaus Holler – saxophone (Austria).
The festival program, which will take place at the Mandel Cultural Center in Yaffo (1 Hatkuma St.), is dedicated to some of the most prestigious and important names of international jazz and will be comprised of musical works composed and previously performed by them.

Florin Raducanu graduated the Music Academy in Bucharest and took part in numerous national and international jazz festivals, where he met and played with important jazz musicians such as David Murray (SUA), Jorge Silvester (Afro-caribbean), Lee Pearsons (SUA), Jean-Louis Rassinfose (Belgium), Eric Legnini (Italy), Celline Rudolph (Germany), Zahid Ahmad (Malaysia), Joseph Pruesner (SUA-Malaysia), Jasper Bloom (Holland), Ari Roland( SUA), John Mosa (SUA), Zaid Naser( SUA), Keith Balla (SUA) etc.
He is the founder of the Jazz Department of the “George Enescu Music College in Bucharest and holds a Ph.D. in Musical Arts. He published numerous articles on jazz history and theory.
Over the years, he started and played in many projects, including his trio, sextet, big band and symphonic jazz orchestra, all of which performed his compositions and jazz standards.
So far, he recorded seven albums: “Hermanstadt Jazz Town”, “Back To Bach” and “Florin Raducanu plays Beethoven, Chopin, Enescu on Jazz”, “Revealing the Romanian Traditional Music on Jazz” , “Florin Raducanu Jazz Orchestra in Enescu Festival 2009”, “Florin Raducanu & Friends – Jazz Standard Mood from Vienna 2014” (Art Factory 2014) and “Florin Raducanu Live Jazz Portrait” (Art Factory 2015). In 2009 he won the Jazz musician of the year award in Romania.
The 3rd International Jaffa Jazz Festival will keep the spirit and high level of the previous editions and will take place between September 14-16, 2017. This year, the festival will be dedicated to the Pioneers of Jazz who changed jazz along the history by creating genres and re-designing the approach to improvisation, interpretation style and sound.
International leading jazz musicians from Austria, Sweden, Holland, Romania,Finland, Ireland, France and Germany will create original tribute concerts to jazz greats Louis Armstrong, Charlie Parker, Miles Davis, John Coltrane, Billie Holiday,Dave Brubeck, Stan Getz and the Modern Jazz Quartet (MJQ) along with more than 40 leading Israeli jazz musicians, while celebrating the values of friendship, sharing and cross world collaboration.
