When photographing kids I am inspired by their innocent nature. I leave them to their own devices capuring the natural chaos (and mess) that ensues through their lucid imagination and their capsule of boundless creativity. The spontaneous and candid atmosphere which emerges (to my delight!) rewards me with genuine photographs that capture priceless moments during ones childhood; every single moment different to the next - such is the beauty of life. Ani Sarpe
Ani Sarpe was born in Romania and arrived in London in the 80's. Modeling was a career for most of her earlier years. Watching the photographers in action and seeing the results in print sparked her interest in photography. Over time she learned to love the use of natural light and the spontaneous shot.
The last few years she has concentrated on portraits mostly of children, capturing those precious moments that seem to be over in a flash.
Mon petit cirque came about as a result of a crazy morning Ani spent with Sophie and Alex. This exhibition highlights some of those moments. Enjoy!
