The Romanian Cultural Institute in Tel Aviv supports the participation of the Ensemble Flauto Dolce at The “Renaissance” Early Music Festival, taking place between October 12-14, 2014 at the Yehiam historic citadel in northern Israel.
Established in Cluj in 2000, under the auspices of the “Gheorghe Dima” Music Academy, Ensemble Flauto Dolce is comprised of professional musicians who specialize in European Early Music. For their Israeli tour, the ensemble will consist of: Zoltan Majo (artistic director, recorder), Maria Szabo (recorder), Erich Türk (harpsichord), Mihaela Maxim (soprano). The repertoire of the Ensemble Flauto Dolce includes early, traditional music from Central and Western Europe, as well as contemporary compositions. The “Renaissance” Early Music Festival in Yehiam brings to the audiences Early Music performed by Israeli artists and the special guests of the festival, worldwide renowned musicians. This year, the Ensemble Flauto Dolce, as one of the special guests of the festival, has been invited to perform a concert entitled “From West to East Europe” on October 14, at 14:00, on the main stage of the event. The musical program includes 12th century Moorish songs, 16th-18th century music form Transylvania, as well as works by Binchois, Monteverdi, Gibbons, Morley, Gastoldi. Free entrance, the number of seats is limited.
