Bucharest at 550. How old are your memories? exhibition and contest
In September 2009 we celebrate 550 years of Bucharest. The existence of the city, that in 1659 became the capital, the residence, of the ruler of Wallachia (Ţara Românească) and in 1862 the capital of Romania, is first documented on September 20, 1459, in a record issued by the chancellor of Vlad Ţepeş - the Romanian ruler altered, in the western imaginary, to suit the malefic figure of the vampire Dracula.
The Bucharest of today or of that many years ago, its places, stories and especially its people...
Whether you've lived in Bucharest all your life or been just briefly passing through it, as a student, or tourist, or for any other possible reason... send us pictures that are worth more than a thousand words. Memories contest and imagination exercise. What is the story of your encounter with the city, how old are your memories?
The contest is open to everyone who has a passion in photographic art, professionals or amateurs, regardless of citizenship, sex, age, occupation, social status etc.
Calendar of the event and Participation Rules:
I. All entries must be submitted and received by October 30.
- Photographs can be in digital format or on print, and may be sent electronically, to the e-mail address icrtelaviv@gmail.com, or by regular mail, to the following address: Romanian Cultural Institute, 8 Shaul Hamelech Blvd., et. 6, 64733 Tel Aviv, Israel.
Please do not forget to send contact information, including your name, address, age, telephone number, email address, and photo caption - containing the time and (at least estimated) location where the photo was taken.
The photographs sent by regular mail shall not be returned to the sender, regardless of the fact that they would or would not be included in the exhibition. ICR Tel Aviv is not to be held responsible for the loss or damage of the photographs, occured during the mailing process.
II. The photographs selected by a jury made of Romanian Cultural Institute experts in Tel Aviv and Bucharest will be presented in an exhibition at the headquarters of the Romanian Cultural Institute in Tel Aviv. The exhibition will be open 1 November – 31 December 2009.
The list of the winners will be published on our website, www.icr.ro/tel-aviv/.
Participation Rules:
- no entrant may submit in total more than 5 (five) entries.
- photographs must be taken in Bucharest.
- submitted photographs must be original work created solely by the entrant, and they must not infringe on the copyrights, trademarks, moral rights, rights of privacy/publicity or intellectual property rights of any person or entity..
- digital photographs must be in JPG format, 300 dpi.
- entries submited to ICR Tel Aviv are and stay the intellectual property of their author, and will be used and reproduced by ICR Tel Aviv only for the present project and the conneted promotional activities, always mentioning the name of the respective authors.
- by submitting an entry, each entrant agrees to the Participation Rules and warrants that his or her entry complies with all requirements set out in these Rules.
Photographs – selection criteria:
- relevance to the contest topic;
- originality;
- image composition.

הפרויקט נועד לכל אלה אשר אוהבים צילום כתחביב – צלמים חובבים או מקצועניים, ללא קשר לאזרחות, מין, גיל, מקצוע או מעמד חברתי.

נא לציין: שם פרטי ושם משפחה של השולח/ת, תאריך ומקום לידה, כתובת דואר, כתובת אימייל, מספר טלפון ופרטים בקשר לצילום – תאריך ומקום הצילום לפי הזכרון שלכם.
הצילומים שנשלחים בדואר לא יוחזרו לשליח, במידה אם הם יבחרו לתערוכה או לא. המכון הרומני לתרבות בת"א לא אחראי על אבדות הצילומים בדואר או על נזקים בצילומים לפני שליחה בדואר.
ב. צוות המכון הרומני לתרבות בת"א ובבוקרשט יבחרו את הצילומים אשר יוצגו בתערכוה שתתקיים בגליריית המכון בת"א, בתקופה שבין 1 לנובמבר עד 31 לדצמבר 2009.
תנאי השתתפות:
• המשתתפים יכולים לשלוח מקסימום 5 צילומים.
• הצילומים חייבים להיות מצולמים בבוקרשט.
• הצילומים חייבים להיות מקוריים, מצולמים ע"י המשתתפים שיש להם זכות יוצרים בשביל הצילומים הנשלחים.
• הצילומים הנשלחים לכתובת אימייל חייבים להיות בפורמט JPG של 300 dpi ללא קומפרסיה.
• הצילומים הנשלחים למכון הרומני לתרבות בת"א נשארים תחת לזכויות השולח, אך המכון הרומני לתרבות יכול להשתמש בהם אך ורק למטרת הפירסום לפרויקט הזה, ובכל רגע שם היוצר מלווה את הצילומים שלו.
• שליחת הצילומים מניחה שהמשתתפים קראו והסכימו את התקנון ותנאי התחרות.
קריטריון של בחירת הצילומים:
• שמירת הנושא.
• מקוריות.
• מסגור וקומפוזיציה.
