Documentary exhibition „The Jewish Vocational School Masada in Darmstadt 1947-48”. 26.02-24.04.2014

On Wednesday, 26 February 2014, at 6 p.m., the Romanian Cultural Institute in Tel Aviv will host the opening of the documentary exhibition „The Jewish Vocational School Masada in Darmstadt 1947-48”, comprising documents and photographs that present the activity and goals of the Masada School.
The Masada School was founded by Samuel Batalion in order to educate young Holocaust survivors, so they would be able to integrate into the State of Israel. A significant part of the students were Romanian Jews. The texts in the exhibition are written in Hebrew, English and German.
Ms. Lea Dror-Batalion, Administrative Director of the Bucerius Institute for Research of Contemporary German History and Society, will deliver the introductory speech.
This event is organized in collaboration with the Bucerius Institute, The Haifa Center for German and European Studies and the University of Haifa.
The exhibition will be open to the public between February 27 and April 24, 2014, Monday to Thursday, 10.00-15.00, at the Romanian Cultural Institute in Tel Aviv, 8 Shaul Hamelech Blvd, 6th floor.
