We are proud to partner with EUNIC Washington, D.C., and the Laboratory for Global Performance & Politics of Georgetown University for the European Theater Residency, a part of CrossCurrents, Washington’s biennial festival that highlights innovative artists from around the world who are harnessing the power of performance to humanize global politics.
Romanian playwright and theater director Ana Mărgineanu joins 6 artists from Austria, Bosnia/Sweden, Czech Republic, Germany, Italy, and Spain for a week of intense creative exchanges under the leadership of The Lab’s co-director, Derek Goldman.
If in D.C. on May 6, don’t miss the “Meet & Greet” Discussion with this ultra-creative bunch at the House of Sweden. The other European participants are Anna Dora Dorno, Philip Ehmann, Alexander Karschnia, Natálie Kocábová, Mersiha Mesihovic, and Lucia Miranda.
Called “one of the reigning queens of New York's highly intimate, one-shot-only, conceptual-based theater” by the NYC critic Randy Gener, Ana Mărgineanu is known for close cooperation with the local communities who are audiences for her work, highly metaphoric visual style, and ability to draw raw, visceral performances from her actors.
