We are pleased to join forces with the Romanian Consulate in Los Angeles in supporting the screening of the long-awaited sequel ”Moromete Family: On the Edge of Time” at the Starring Europe - New Films From the EU festival, a celebration of cinematic creativity organized by several diplomatic missions in partnership with the American Cinematheque and unfolding every year around Europe’s Day on May 9.
The film, directed with masterly assurance by veteran movie-maker Stere Gulea, is a family saga covering the tragic years after the imposition of communism in Romania in the aftermath of the Second World War. It was awarded Best Film and nine other awards in different categories at the 13th edition of the Gopo Gala, Oscar’s Romanian equivalent, held at the National Theatre in Bucharest on March 19, 2019.
