We are glad to be partnering with Spectacle Theater, the Williamsburg boutique venue with some of the most imaginative and daring programming in the whole of New York City, for a limited run of Sieranevada, Cristi Puiu’s masterpiece and Romania’s submission to the Oscars in 2016. Rarely seen outside Romania, the film is a disenchanted exposure of family life and recent Romanian history through a series of eye-opening vignettes, put together by the visionary helmer with consummate skill and brilliantly performed by an expert ensemble cast.
