THU, April 9, 7:30 pm | RCINY - Auditorium
In collaboration with the Lark Play Development Center, RCINY presents a panel discussion with Romanian writers: Ioana Ieronim, Mihaela Michailov, Andreea Valean, moderated by Romanian-American playwright Saviana Stanescu. The three writers are in NYC for a week of new play-development at the Lark.
The guest dramatists will be discussing their careers and unique paths towards playwriting: Ioana Ieronim (from poetry to diplomacy to playwriting), Mihaela Michailov (from philology to theatre criticism to playwriting), Andreea Valean (from sociology to directing to playwriting to screenwriting).
The debate will be illustrated with video clips and photos from productions. A Q&A session will follow the panel.
The event is organized in the frame of the "New Drama Support Program", launched by RCINY in 2006 in order to accompany the projects of exchange in the field of playwriting and translation between Romania and the US, the present Romanian playwrights residency at the Lark being one of these.
