Contemporary Instrumental Music of Romania: Mirror of Post-Communist Transition

Organized in collaboration with the George Enescu Society of the USA, at the initiative of violinist Sherban Lupu, the series of concerts is aimed at presenting to the American audience a glimpse of the Romanian contemporary music. After the Romanian revolution, music has transformed in a rapid rythm, combining new sound experiments with traditional sources, like folk or Byzantine music. This series of concerts will be performed by an ensemble of Romanian and American musicians.
