The Romanian Cultural Institute in Tel Aviv invites you, between August 3-15, 2009, to the 34th edition of the international Jerusalem Arts and Crafts Festival. Titled היה היה פעם... סיפורים עממים מרומניה/ "Once Upon A time: A Romanian Imaginary"/ „A fost odată ca niciodată...", the Romanian presence in the International Pavilion at the fair is enhanced by two remarkable artists, Ema Hagiu and Monika Pădureţ, members of the Professional Artists' Union in Romania and well-known for their works inspired by the mythic world of Romanian legends and tales, who will display unique artifacts and small series of ceramics and glass objects.
Monika Pădureţ will exhibit ceramics: decorative objects and jewelry made of clay, manufactured in traditional techniques, painted and glazed. Ema Hagiu will present glass paintings, manufactured in a personal technique, painted in multiple strata, incized, glazed and framed in painted wood. The two artists will organize ad-hoc workshops demonstrating their craft, for the benefit of the participating public.
The international Jerusalem Arts and Crafts Festival, which has taken place for more than thirty years, has become a tradition in Jerusalem and the largest tourist attraction of the Jerusalem summer season. It is held at the Hutzot Hayotzer Arts and Crafts Center, Mitchell Gardens and the Merrill Hassenfeld Amphitheater in the Sultan's Pool, opposite the Tower of David at the foot of the Old City Walls.
More than one hundred and fifty of the best of Israel's artist and artisans exhibit paintings, prints, ceramics, metalwork and jewelry, weaving and textiles, Judaica, toys, crafts in various techniques, works in wood and more. Guest artists and artisans from abroad exhibit their crafts and works of art at the Festival in unique booths and exhibits and demonstrate their creative process. The international exhibit includes authentic and varied arts and crafts from all over the world.
The Festival is open every evening (except Fridays) from 18:00 – 23:00 and Saturday from one hour after the end of the Sabbath until midnight.

המכון הרומני לתרבות בת"א מתכבד להזמינך, בתקופה שבין 3-15 באוגוסט 2009, לפסטיבל הבינלאומי חוצות היוצר ירושלים. "היה היה פעם ... סיפורים עממים מרומניה" – נושא ההשתתפות הרומנית בפסטיבל הזה – האומניות הרומניות אמה האג'יו ומוניקה פאדורץ, חברות אגודת האמנים המקצועיים מרומניה,הן מפרסמות יצירות בנושאים מהסיפורים והאגדות מרומניה. במסגרת הפסטיבל הן מציגות יצירות יחודיות או בסידרות קטנות.
מוניקה פאדורץ מציגה קרמיקה: פריטים מעוצבים או תכשיטים, עשויים בשיטות מסורתיות, מחמר עם זיגוג אמה חאג'יו מציגה את ציור על זכוכית בשיטה אישית עם צבעים מיוחדים בשכבות, בשימוש המחט ועם ריקוע זהב, הכל במסגרת מעץ מצויר
שתי האומניות הרומניות משתתפות במצגות יצירה וסדנאות שמוקדשות לקהל הפסטיבל
הפסטיבל הבינלאומי חוצות היוצר ירושלים מתקיים במרכז לאומנות ולאמנות חוצות היוצר ובאמפיתאטרון ע''ש מריל הסנפלד בבריכת השולטן, אל מול מגדל דוד ולמרגלות חומות העיר העתיקה. הפסטיבל מתקיים זה למעלה משלושים שנה והפך למסורת בירושלים ולאטרקציה התיירותית והאמנותית הגדולה ביותר בתקופת הקיץ.
