September 1st, 2022, ICR Beijing participated in the National Cultural Export Forum, CIFTIS 2022

On September 1, 2022, the Romanian Cultural Institute in Beijing has participated in the 2nd National Cultural Export Base Forum with the theme "Developing Digital Cultural Trade, Creating New Prospects for International Cooperation". The event was held at 9:30 am., in the conference room 309B of the Beijing National Convention Center. Liviu Țăranu, the director of ICR Beijing, has been invited to deliver a video message at the opening ceremony, emphasizing the importance of the international cultural exchanges and the development of creative industries, both at home and abroad. Ms. Andreea-Ema Stoian has also held a presentation on examples of best practices and digital cultural exchanges from the institute's experience, in one of the forum`s panel discussions.

The event was under the high patronage of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of the People's Republic of China, the Ministry of Commerce, and the National Radio and Television Administration of China. At the forum have been present over 160 experts and directors of top cultural industry enterprises from China and abroad.

Notable guests included Miao Muyang, director general of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, Xiang Yong, the dean of the Cultural Industries Institute at Peking University, Li Xiaomu, dean of the Beijing International Studies University, Janusz Piechocinski, former Prime Minister of Poland, and Kim Jin Gon, cultural advisor to the Ministry of Culture in South Korea. Mr. Shahbaz Khan, the director of UNESCO Beijing, has highlighted that "cultural and creative industries are among the fastest growing sectors in the world, with a global value estimated at $4.3 trillion per year, the cultural sector representing 6.1% of the global economy. They generate annual revenues of $2.25 trillion and 30 million jobs worldwide, employing more young people aged 15 to 29 than any other sector, making them essential for inclusive economic growth, reducing inequalities and achieving sustainable growth goals in the 2030 Agenda."

The Sino-International Trade in Services Fair (CIFTIS) is one of the top three international exhibition platforms in China and one of the largest exhibitions in the field of global service trade.
