The Romanian Cultural Institute and the Romanian Embassy in London, in collaboration with EUNIC London, the EU Delegation to the UK and the European Parliament Liaison Office in the UK, invite you to celebrate and experience the diversity of cultures through an interactive and informative event organised on the occasion of the European Day of Languages to foster mutual understanding and cooperation among nations.
Entry is free, booking is mandatory. Please secure your place HERE.
We invite students, junior ambassadors from the European Parliament's Ambassador Schools Programme, linguists, language enthusiasts, and the general public to participate in this joint initiative, which highlights the richness of European cultures and languages.
From 12:00 to 17:00, stalls hosted by EU member state embassies, cultural institutes, and diaspora schools will offer learning materials and insights into various languages and cultures, encouraging foreign language learning and showcasing the importance of language learning across Europe.
Did you know? There are 24 official languages in Europe, but including regional and minority languages, the total number spoken across the continent exceeds 200. At the initiative of the Council of Europe, the European Day of Languages has been celebrated every year since 2001 on 26 September, in collaboration with the European Commission.
