The Government Inspector @ Edinburgh Fringe Festival

In Gogol's classic comedy a penniless visitor to a small town is mistaken by the mayor and civil dignitaries for the feared government inspector from the Capital.

The Government Inspector is staged by Bucharest company, The Comedy Theatre, and features famous Romanian comic actor George Mihaita as the mayor, and rock-star Stefan Banica as Hlestakov, the traveler who takes the free-loading to fine art.

This critically-acclaimed production has played to full houses since it opened last year and continues to attract home and international audiences. The Government Inspector reaches the Scottish public in a series of twelve performances at the Majestic Theatre, Assembly Universal Arts in Edinburgh.

Every age has its own best version of The Government Inspector. This one is ours. The Comedy Theatre Creative Team
