The International Arts and Crafts Festival, organized by the Jerusalem Municipality, will take place between August 15-27, 2016 at the Sultan's Pool and the "Khutsot Hayotser" Center in Jerusalem.
Within the international pavilion, Romania will be present with a national stand organized with the support of the Romanian Cultural Institute in Tel Aviv. The following artists and craftsmen will participate from Romania: Ema Hagiu, visual artist, Filomela Tiștere, traditional artist and instructor at the Traditional Arts School in Târgu Jiu, Antonio Andrusceac and Andreea Mădălina Drăghescu.
As part of the events program of the festival, at the Romanian stand, Ema Hagiu will demonstrate the techniques of painting on glass, and Filomela Tiștere will demonstrate the traditional technique of weaving Tismana carpets.
Together with the Romanian artists, there will participate with national stands, traditional craftsmen from Uzbekistan, Ukraine, El Salvador, Uruguay, Ecuador, Argentina, Armenia, Bolivia, Brazil, Guatemala, Ghana, Germany, South Africa, India, Hungary, Zimbabwe, Turkmenistan, Madagascar, Macedonia, Mexico, China, Sri Lanka, Peru, Czech Republic, Chile, South Korea, Kyrgyzstan, Kenya, Russia and Israel.

The International Arts and Crafts Festival, Jerusalem is held at the Khutsot Hayotser Arts and Crafts Center, Mitchell Gardens and the Merrill Hassenfeld Amphitheater in the Sultan's Pool, opposite the Tower of David at the foot of the Old City Walls. This year the Festival is celebrating 41 years of the cultural event that has become a tradition in Jerusalem and the main tourist and artistic attraction of the summer season. Guest artists and artisans from abroad will exhibit their crafts and art objects. The artisans will demonstrate the creative process of their work. The international exhibit includes authentic and varied arts and crafts: From the Far East: China, India, South Korea and Sri Lanka; From South and Central America: Argentina, Bolivia, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador, El Salvador, Guatemala, Mexico, Peru and Uruguay; From Europe: Czech Republic, Germany, Hungary, Macedonia and Romania; From Asia: Armenia, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Ukraine and Uzbekistan; From Africa: Ghana, Kenya, Madagascar, South Africa and Zimbabwe.
