Aura Balanescu @ Attic Arts

Aura Balanescu is a visual artist dealing with the mutations produced by the new technologies in creative processes. She combines digital and traditional media like video and sound to explore new art genres and create new sculptural forms. Her most recent project Media Sculpture 21st Century examines how sculpture and its understanding have changed from Jospeh Beyus and Nam June Paik to Santiago Sierra.

As an Attic Arts resident at the Institute, Aura Balanescu will be working on the solo exhibition WARMING! to be presented at the European Comission Gallery from 30 October to 9 November. She will also be working on a new media sculpture in partnership with the Romanian Cultural Institute.
