Our guests this month are the Romanian Wind Ensemble - ten outstanding musicians within the Symphony Orchestra of the "George Enescu" Philharmonic in Bucharest.
The programme will include the Dixtuor for wind instruments by Enescu and Mozart's Divertimento and Serenade.
Established in 2006 under the initiative of musician Adrian Petrescu, the Romanian Wind Ensemble brings together the most talented wind musicians within the Symphony Orchestra of the George Enescu Philharmonic in Bucharest.
The Romanian Wind Ensemble are: Adrian Petrescu (oboe), Cosmin Sperneac (oboe), Catalin Opritoiu (flute), Nicolae Maxim (flute), Dan Avramovici (clarinet), Cristian Mancas (clarinet), Ioan Gabriel Luca (horn), Ciprian Popa (horn), Godri Orban (bassoon) and Gabriel Sava (bassoon).
Characterised by professional competence and passion, this chamber orchestra has been praised in many festivals and given extraordinary performances in Romania and abroad. Their varied repertory includes works belonging to the pre-classic, classic and romantic period, as well as contemporary creations and entertainment music.

The Enescu Society was established by the Romanian Cultural Institute in 2007 under the Royal Patronage of HRH Princess Margarita of Romania.
The Institute runs the Enescu Society Concerts Season from October to June, on the first Thursday of each month. The concert stage of the Institute hosts outstanding musicians performing George Enescu's music alongside an international repertoire.
From September 2009 the Romanian Cultural Institute awards the Enescu Society sholarship to a student at the Royal Academy of Music.
