The Romanian Cultural Institute in Tel Aviv invites you to celebrate the 140th Anniversary of Constantin Brâncuși on Thursday, the 18th of February 2016, 17:00 hrs. The program of the evening will include a screening of the film "Brâncuși" (1996, dir. Cornel Mihalache) and the opening of the personal exhibition of the artist Dan Reisner.
The event will take place at the Romanian Cultual Institute in Tel Aviv, 8 Shal Hamelech Blvd, 6th floor. Free entrance.
The film is based on documents and authentic photos made by Constantin Brancusi, including self-portraits, as well as other photos showing the great sculptor and his works. The filming sites depict the places where the great sculptor lived, worked or traveled to, as well as his sculptures and monuments.
The visual artist Dan Reisner explores various visual media (sculpture, drawing, painting, installation, photography, video and other) and studies the evolution of contemporary esthetics through visual comments on milestones of modern and contemporary art. One of his projects, "Brancusi in Space", that will be featured in the exhibition at the Romanian Cultural Institute, is a playful interpretation of the visual clichees derived from the works of Brancusi.
