"Of then and now". Exhibition of Moris Manes, Romanian-born Israeli artist at RCI Tel Aviv (18.09 - 18.10.2013)

Between September 18- October 18, 2013, the Romanian Cultural Institute in Tel Aviv will host the exhibition "Of then and now" (Moris Manes, Romanian-born Israeli artist). The opening event will take place at RCI Tel Aviv on October 2nd, 2013, at 7:00 pm. With the participation of: Moris Manes, dr. Dalia Hakker – Orion (art critic and historian), dr.Vlad Solomon (writer and journalist) and Israeli officials.
Moris Manes was born in 1932 in Ştefăneşti, Botoşani-Romania. În 1955 he graduated from the "Nicolae Grigorescu" Art Institute in Bucharest, together with well-known painter Sabin Bălaşa. From 1956 to 1958, Moris Manes was the receiver of the Frederic and Cecilia Cuţescu Storck Scholarship. In 1959 he emigrated to Israel and has, since, been active in the field of painting, ceramics and sculpture. For 10 years, he has worked as an art teacher in the state education system. His works have been displayed in numerous individual and collective exhibitions both in Israel and abroad. Moris Manes has been a member of the Artists' Association since 1965, as well as one of the founders of the Municipal Art Gallery and of the Artists' Association in Herzliya.

The exhibition is open to the public, Monday to Friday, between 10:00-15:00.
