Than apply now for the the new Gabriela Tudor residency programaiming to support mobility and artistic creation in the field of dance, contemporary art and literature. The programme is dedicated to the memory of Gabriela Tudor (1957-2009 -www.gabrielatudor.ro), a visionary producer and cultural manager who played an important role of the development of the cultural sector in Romania and who implemented ArtistNe(s)t, the first inter/national residence program in Romania in 4 cities between 2005-2009.This pilot residency scheme will be developed in 2019 in partnership with “George Apostu” Cultural Center in Bacau (Romania) and Forum Dança Association in Lisbon, and is co-funded by the Administration of the National Cultural Fund.

The first residency will take place in Romania between May 6 - June 1, in collaboration with George Apostu Cultural Centre (http://centrulapostu.ro), a public cultural institution subordinated to the Ministry of Culture and National Identity. The Centre is located in the southern part of Bacau (North of Romania, approx.. 285 km from Bucharest) in a natural setting, on the right bank of the Bistriţa River and is named after the great Romanian sculptor George Apostu. The Centre regularly hosts various cultural events and includes the George Apostu Museum of Contemporary Art, with two adaptable gallery spaces for visual art exhibitions and performing arts (equipped with dance floor), a library with over 15,000 volumes of art and literature and an exhibition park in the open air with 47 monumental works performed within the “George Apostu” International Symposiums of Sculpture. The city has also an international airport with flights connected to major European cities. Depending on the project, artists can work outdoors in the park or within the gallery, where a dance studio/work space it will be arranged.

The application file must be submitted in Romanian or English tooffice@gabrielatudor.roand should include: CV or artistic biography for each participating artist, motivation letter, a short description of the proposed project, video/photo links in connection to the project, press dossiers, 2 photos (one portrait and one artistic). Registration - extended deadline is March 27, 2019 and the selection results will be announced by the end of March. The duration of the residence can be 3-4 weeks.
