The Romanian Cultural Institute in Tel Aviv proudly supports the presence of jazz trumpet musician Emil Bizga in Israel, to perform in the International Jazz Summit organized by the musician Amikam Kimelman on 3-6 December 2014.

Emil Bizga's style has been shaped by a broad array of experience spanning from classical orchestra to jazz big band and quartet. In addition to receiving Masters Degrees in classical trumpet in Malmo, Sweden and jazz trumpet in Hanover, Germany, he has been working closely with important artists such as Hakan Hardenberger and Wynton Marsalis to further refine his style. He is well known for jazz concerts throughout Europe, Russia and US. His early performances include collaborations with Niedersachen Jazz Orchestra, Bucharest Radio Big Band and the Hanover Opera. He participated in numerous jazz festivals, such as Richard Oschanitzky Jazz Festival (Iasi, Romania), the Patras Jazz Festival (Greece), the ZeitTon Festival (Vienna), the Miles Davis Festival (Krakow) and the Montreux Jazz Festival. Amikam Kimelman is a well known Israeli saxophonist, arranger and producer. Graduate of the Rubin Academy of Music at Tel Aviv University and Berklee College of Music, co-leader of the legendary jazz group 'Overdraft' and leader of The 'Hard Jazz Knights' and 'The Human Factory' jazz quintets, Amikam performed in festivals throughout the world, such as Grahamstown (SA), Pretoria (SA), Almati (Kazakhstan), Baku (Azerbaijan), EU Jazz Express (Budapest) and Essen (W. Germany). He played with Joanne Brackeen, Lew Soloff, Jeff Berlin, Franck Amsallem, Jean Loup Longnon, Sheila Jordan, Mike del Ferro, Inaki Sandoval, Billy Cobham, Ari Hoenig and Lou Marini, arranged and composed for The Israel Philharmonic Orchestra, The Israel Simfonietta – Beer Sheva, for top Israeli jazz, pop and rock stars, for prime time television shows and for major musical events in Israel. Amikam has been the general and academic director of the Rimon School of Music between the years 1990 and 2014. At present he is the head of the external studies programs of Rimon and directs the music program at Nofei Habesor high school at the Negev. Katia Toobool is an Israeli jazz pianist and composer. She graduated from Rimon School of Music and the New School in NYC and studied with Jane Ira Bloom, Geri Allen and Barry Harris. She performed with Eric Harland, Milena Gillard and Gregory Hutcherson, as well as with leading Israeli jazz musicians such as Aron Kaminsky, Avi Leibovich, Alon Farber and others. Katia leads her own jazz band with her husband, drummer Edi Toobool. Simon Starr is a bass player, graduate of Victorian College of the Arts in Australia. He studied with Garry Peacock and Dave Holland, performed with Kevin Mahogany, Takura Rogers, Mike del Ferro, Eli Degibri, Omri Mor, Julia Feldman, Robert Ancipolovsky, to name a few. Simon produced 14 albums in the jazz, rock and pop idioms and his bass can be heard in over 40 albums. Since making Aliya from Australia in 2009, Simon is very active in the Israeli music scene, including the musical direction of the White City Jazz Festival in Tel Aviv, teaching at Rimon School of Music and performing throughout Israel.More: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fCQK03aQG58
Gasper Bertoncelj is an internationally acclaimed drummer from Slovenia. He graduated from Bruckner Conservatory (Jazz and Pop Department) in Linz, Austria and received his Master degree (Jazz Performance) from The City College of New York. For 8 years in New York Gasper he studied with Victor Lewis, Billy Drummond, John Patitucci, Andy Watson and expanded his musical knowledge and gained experiences in jazz and other genres by playing in many of New York City venues. He released 3 albums as a leader – two of them are released by the New York label Arabesque Records, featuring Vincent Herring, Jeremy Pelt, Boris Kozlov, Lew Tabackin, Peter Mihelich and his New York Ensemble “The Swingers of Jazz”. Israel is his new home where he performs and from where he tours Europe, USA and Russia. Gasper is in the process of writing a complete instructional book for playing with brushes.
